How much does it cost to register a UK trade mark?

Corven guide, 6 October 2026

The official fee for an online application is £205, which includes one class, and £60 for each additional class. A three class online application therefore costs £325 in official fees, the example GOV.UK gives itself.

The official fees

According to GOV.UK, a standard online application costs £205 for one class and £60 for each additional class. A paper application costs £250 for one class, plus £60 for each additional class. The Right Start route costs £125 plus £30 for each additional class to check that the application meets the rules, and a further £125 plus £30 for each additional class to continue. Section 32(4) of the Trade Marks Act 1994 makes every application subject to the application fee and any class fees.

Renewal

GOV.UK states that a registration lasts ten years and can be renewed every ten years.

What else you may pay for

The official fee covers the application. Many applicants also pay for help preparing the classes and the specification, which decide what the registration protects.

Our trade mark filing kit gives you the classes and specification prepared for you to file. It includes no search or advice. The price is £145, the IPO fee is paid by you, and it comes back within 24 hours of us having everything.
